There comes a time when you may feel you need to retreat. Not because you are running from something, but because you are seeking something more.
This is the moment I find myself in right now, a time of self-discovery and closeness to the Divine. During this time, I am tucked away in the hollow. The picture above is one that I took of a tree trunk at one of the parks near my home. It reminded me of this very season, where I am rooting down and digging in, safe from the distractions of the world, focusing on what I believe is most important. It resembles the Hermit tarot card. When there is a call or guidance to go inward. In the surrender to the retreat is the space where clarity is born. It is a time to examine beliefs and ideas - are they yours or something someone told you? It is a time to discover what you believe and who you truly are to be in this lifetime. In the cocoon of the hollow is the charging port for your illuminating light, so that when you emerge, it shines even brighter than it did before. Don't fear the hollow! Instead, embrace the protection and peace it provides as it perpetuates your divine self.
